Employee performs In-Plant cleaning and Sanitation procedures ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Plant Safety rules and practices.

Ways you will make a difference

OPERATIONAL TASKS:
•    Cleans production equipment by washing, vacuuming, wiping and sweeping it.
•    Cleans floors by sweeping and mopping them.
•    Disassembles and assembles plant equipment for cleaning, such as bucket elevators, sifters, packaging machines, dust collector lines, etc.
•    Responsible for proper operation of the equipment after assembly.
•    Responsible for hands on training / guiding HMO.
•    Cleans the plant facilities (Cafeteria, locker rooms) and grounds.
•    Disposes of refuse in dumpster or compactor.
•    Suggests changes to improve janitorial work performance through continuous improvement.
•    Actively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes critical with high supervision.
•    Displays cooperation by working closely with Maintenance, Production, and Sanitation personnel.
•    Works with and understands cleaning chemicals to maintain a safe plant environment.
•    Cleans equipment, floor or any plant equipment that may be contaminated with body fluids. Uses bloodborne pathogen safeguards.
•    After receiving proper training, uses fire extinguishers to fight small incipient plant fires.
•    Removes snow from the plant walkways.
•    Operates sanitation equipment (riding scrubbers, manlifts, high horse and snow blowers).
•    Communicates conditions of equipment by; completing appropriate maintenance record, computer data entry, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming sanitarians at shift change, and informing the supervisor of significant problems.
•    Completes assigned jobs and enters job data into Maximo in a timely manner.
•    Other duties as assigned.

QUALITY:
Employee shall follow all required GMP, quality and food safety requirements. In addition, employee shall notify their supervisor or other designated personnel of all quality or food safety findings or incidents.
SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL:
Employee shall follow Ferrara-Itasca’s safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
