Maintenance Mechanic-3rd Shift
Work Location: Itasca
This is a 3rd Shift position, 10:30pm-7:00am.
Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

The Maintenance Mechanic conducts repairs to the physical plant and plant equipment, conducts preventative maintenance and project work and ensures continuous operation of mechanical and electrical systems on mobile and fixed manufacturing equipment.
Ways you will make a difference
- Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or
equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers servos, gears, sprockets
chains, knives, ect. using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe and PC. - Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, servos, and timing for
process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation. - Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
- Installs change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders ect.) on our production
machinery to allow us to run a different size, shape or product. - Read blueprints, diagrams, programs /ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems,
identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation. - Installs new equipment.
- Actively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes
critical with high supervision. - Communicates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records,
transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics at shift change, and informing his
supervisor of significant problems. - Displays cooperation by working closely with Production personnel.
- Improves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programs.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills that will make you successful
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to
50 pounds. - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to understand detailed
written and/or oral instructions. - Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. - Promote teamwork; possess a good attitude, and exhibit flexibility and willingness to
perform tasks as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned to support Ferrara Candy Company business objectives.
Experiences that will support your success
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities, as well as a working knowledge
of machinery repair practices, shop practices, use of hand and power tools and electrical
testing instruments. - Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Completed Maintenance Certification.
- Ability to problem solve by adjusting variables in standardized situations.

Compensation
$38.00 per hour plus a .58 cent per hour shift differential.
