General Labor-Packaging-3rd Shift

Work Location: ​Itasca​

Position requires the ability to work overtime.  As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

This is a 3rd shift position in the Warehouse: core hours and days are Mon-Fri 11:00PM-7:00AM, Saturdays/OT as needed.

The ability to lift 50lbs is REQUIRED.

Employee may fill packaged bags and or boxes into display sand shippers at the established standards for personnel safety, food safety, and performance

Ways you will make a difference

  • Operate automatic form and fill packaging machine to pack quality bag and unit boxes
  • Support the following machines and product lines: Bulk, FLP, Do-Boy, Treatsize, and Bagger 5, based on business need.
  • Perform necessary quality checks
  • Minimize scrap rate at all times
  • Monitor quality of packaged goods for proper code dates, seam seals, registration, graphic clarity, hole punches, product mix weights, product placement in packaging units, product orientation, and dust levels to assure each meets product quality
  • Count candy packages to assure proper quantity in each display
  • Computer-data entry and report requests
  • Track, report, and record down time
  • Life and move filled shippers to a finished product conveyor
  • Maintain clean work area utilizing daily GMP checklist
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and manually lift ingredients or finished products

Skills that will make you successful

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the environment is loud
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience is a plus 
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to occasionally, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds with no assistance.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and keep up with the line speeds in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and write English  
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Ensures compliance with SQF, and other relevant standards
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures 
  • Dependable and flexible when work is required in other facets of production
  • Promotes teamwork, possesses a good attitude, and exhibits flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed 
  • Ability to work scheduled shift and overtime as needed

Compensation

$22.50 per hour plus a .58 cent per hour shift differential.
