Employee is responsible for handling materials, candy, and producing product.  They must set-up, change-over, and run lines and/or assist packaging employees.  They are responsible for sanitation, quality, productivity, and safety in their area

Ways you will make a difference

 

OPERATIONAL TASKS:

 

•    Perform usages/usage corrections of all materials in the area of responsibility, using GLOBE/SAP.

•    Ensures code date on display is correct – change code dates on displays if needed. 

•    Ensure code date on case is correct – change code dates at the start of every shift. 

•    Operate shrink-wrap machine by changing and adjusting film on shrink-wrap machine.  Clear machines of any jams. 

•    Erect and collapse corrugated material to make cases. 

•    Operate case taper to seal finished goods cases at end of line and change tape on case tapers

•    Dump candy from totes into candy throughs and ensure the candy throughs are always full while line is running.

•    Assure all materials needed for a product are on the line and call the packaging or product driver for supplies.

•    Separate and repack product held for quality problems.  

•    Set-up machines for next shift and complete changeovers as needed.  Assure all material is covered.

•    Ensure all materials are covered and returned to their proper location at the end of each shift. 

•    Fill out downtime sheets and other applicable forms.

•    Empty and remove buckets, drums, catch pans, and hoppers to proper area and/or receptacle.

•    Participate on Shift Hand Off on a daily basis in order to communicate potential issues to the following shift. 

•    Monitor quality of finished displays and shippers produced at end of line for proper taping.

•    Ability to palletize and orientate displays and shippers correctly and place correct amount per pallet. 

•    Ability to dump totes of candy as heavy as 50 lbs.

•    Ability to work in a room below 50 degrees. 

•    Maintain clean work area utilizing daily GMP checklists.

•    Escalate issues to supervisor and mechanics as needed. 

•    Work collaboratively with the Doboy operator and assist to ensure performance is exceeded on every shift. 

•    Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALITY:


Employee shall follow all required GMP, quality and food safety requirements. In addition, employee shall notify their supervisor or other designated personnel of all quality or food safety findings or incidents.

 

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL:


Employee shall follow Nestlé-Itasca’s safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
