Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift
Work Location: Forst Park
Position requires ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

The Maintenance Mechanic, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, maintains production and facility equipment in a condition to meet the plant production goals and the building requirements. This position works with mechanical devices such as gears, sprockets, chains, sheaves, belts, brakes, clutches, couplings and coupling alignment, bearings, lubrication, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ways you will make a difference
- Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe and PC.
- Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
- Installs change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders etc.) on production machinery to run a different size, shape or product.
- Reads blueprints, diagrams, programs /ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation.
- Installs new equipment.
- Actively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes critical with high supervision.
- Communicates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics at shift change, and informing his supervisor of significant problems.
- Displays cooperation by working closely with Production personnel.
- Improves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experiences that will support your success
- 3 years of prior experience as an industrial Maintenance Mechanic OR Completion of 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or related area of study AND 1 year of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
- Experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications.
- Experience in a food-manufacturing environment is preferred
- High school Diploma or GED. 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance or Mechanical Maintenance, OR related area of study, OR Journeyman Certification, preferred
- Basic experience working with and troubleshooting electrical components like 240-480v motors, wiring, switches, sensors, AC and DC circuits.
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and methodologies

Compensation
The salary for this role is $38.00 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential per hour
