General Labor, 2nd Shift

Work Location: ​Forest Park​

 

Position requires the ability to work overtime.  As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs. Hours are 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

General Laborers are responsible for inspecting product to ensure quality. In this position, you will feed cartons and boxes onto a conveyor belt, place finished product into cartons and case boxes, inspect cartons and product for general quality, and lift filled cases onto conveyor. This position requires flexibility as the role is moved from line to line depending on daily production needs.

Ways you will make a difference

 

  • Adheres to all company established Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Assists in other facets of production as needed
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require 
  • Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to company safety methods
  • Ensures a quality product through continual visual checks,
  • Escalate machine issues to Lead Operator
  • Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process 
  • Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods 

Skills that will make you successful

 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and keep up with the line speeds in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to read and write English
  • Must be able to lift to 60 pounds with no assistance
  • Willingness to consistently work scheduled shift and overtime as needed including weekends
  • Dependable and flexible when work is required in other facets of production facility
  • Promotes teamwork, possess a good attitude, and exhibits flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed

Experiences that will support your success

 

  • Work experience in manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience is a plus
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or safely move around facility to communicate.

Compensation

 

$22.50 hourly rate and $1.00 shift differential
