The primary function of the EHS Supervisor is to assist the EHS Manager and help build a safety culture supported by sustainable EHS programs. This position provides leadership and technical expertise to drive safety performance and ensure regulatory compliance. EHS Supervisor will serve as EHS department head in absence of EHS Manager and will supervise a Safety Specialist.

Knowledgeable of EPA and OSHA guidelines.
• Supervise all EHS hourly personnel
• Participate in and perform (weekly/monthly/annual) environmental and safety physical inspections of the workplace (Safety Audits) and maintain the appropriate records
• Manage EHS department budget
• Ensure regulatory compliance of Wastewater Treatment Operation
• Lead accident incident/investigations and corrective action follow-up.
• Assist with procedure (JSAs, Lockout Tagout, Technician, etc.) development, review and updating
• Assist with the development and presentation of environmental, health and safety training
• Lead appropriate employee engagement activities and floor presence activities
• Assist with the development, review, follow-up and tracking of Safe Plans of Action
• Complete and submit regulatory reports as required
• Conduct one-on-one employee contacts
• Lead all EHS committees and conduct Environmental and Safety Meetings as necessary
• Openly communicate with both hourly & Management Leadership Teams
• Monitor safety equipment supplies, makes orders, sets up PO’s and processes Goods Receipts
• Support behavior based safety initiative by completing observations, entering data into tracking software and issuing trending reports as necessary
• Create and track EHS-related work orders
• Upkeep of the Environmental & Safety bulletin Boards
Skills that will make you successful
- The role requires contact and communication with government agencies and Ferrara’s Corporate Safety Team
- Must be comfortable wearing assorted personal protective equipment as required.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the plant.
- This position may require limited travel and work coverage beyond the normal hours, shift and on weekends/holidays.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and safely work from elevated work surfaces.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
Experiences that will support your success
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, chemistry, environmental or occupational health sciences and/or 5 years of related experience
- Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental regulations including but not limited to: air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste regulations
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, including Plant Leadership Team, Front Line Leadership, employees and site personnel
- Personal computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and SAP applications for the creating of safety work orders, tracking of safety work orders, development of spread sheets to track safety records, and the development of safety trainings.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Should possess strong leadership, training, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and leadership skills

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,325 to $112,455 annually.
