Warehouse Worker Receiving - 2nd Shift

Work Location: ​Fairfield​

Position requires ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

 

Core Hours: 2:00pm-10:30pm

The Warehouse Worker, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, ensures all materials and products are properly verified, stored, and recorded. This role is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments. You will assist in inventory communicating information, discrepancies, and food safety concerns in a professional and timely manner. 

Ways you will make a difference

  • Unload or load trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documents.
  • Inspect products for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly. 
  • Enter receiving data into inventory management systems accurately and timely
  • Label, tag, and store received items in designated warehouse locations
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits as needed
  • Performs warehousing function of transferring product from packaging to warehouse. Rotates, arranges, and organizes stock. Sorts good/bad pallets for use in factory. 
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of documentation concerning all aspects of warehousing,  receiving, and Inventory Control.
  • Perform proper picking and loading of intra company D.O.’s
  • Receive P.O.’s and run reports. 
  • Support general warehouse and packaging duties as assigned
  • Performs all other related duties assigned by management

Skills that will make you successful

Language Skills:                         

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:                         

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:                         

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition.  The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned.  Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position.  Wages, hours, and working conditions are outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Jelly Belly Candy Company and Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grainmillers International Union, AFL-CIO, Local #125.  Overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is mandatory.  An essential function of this job is a requirement to work all hours scheduled.

Experiences that will support your success

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience or nine months structured on the job training. Education equivalency is acceptable.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $31.77 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.
