Material Handler - 2nd Shift
Work Location: Fairfield
Position requires ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

The Material Handler, reporting to the Packaging Supervisor, keeps raw materials moving at our packaging center. This role powers our operation by transporting raw materials and product to and from packaging lines using a stand-up forklift. You’ll keep packaging and return areas organized and make sure raw materials get to where it needs to go—fresh and fast.
Ways you will make a difference
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Picks and stages raw materials at packaging lines returning unused raw materials to warehouse
- Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor
- Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all safety methods and GMP’s
- Assists with inventory reconciliation process
- Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using “SAP system” and/or Excel spreadsheet
- Performs duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to managers
- Flexibility to work outside of core hours to support business operations
- May be asked to fill in at the packaging equipment
- Arranges and rotates stock in the warehouse
- Rotates stock from warehouse for candy mix pickers and picks candy mixes
- Performs all other related duties assigned by management.
Skills that will make you successful
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Wages, hours, and working conditions are outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Jelly Belly Candy Company and Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grainmillers International Union, AFL-CIO, Local #125. Overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is mandatory. An essential function of this job is a requirement to work all hours scheduled.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience or nine months structured on the job training. Education equivalency is acceptable.
- 6-12 months minimum stand-up forklift experience required

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $31.77 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.
