Material Handler 2nd Shift

Work Location: ​DeKalb​

Position requires ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

The Material Handler keeps the candy moving at our packaging and distribution center. This role powers our operation by transporting candy and packaging to and from packaging lines, the warehouse and trailers using a stand-up forklift. You’ll keep packaging and return areas organized, load and unload trailers, and make sure every shipment of candy gets where it needs to go—fresh, fast, and ready to delight.

Ways you will make a difference

· Completes the forklift driver’s daily checklist form.

· Replenishes fluids and generates maintenance work request forms for repairs needed.

· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.

· Receives materials from production by verifying and identifying information and quantity of materials, placing materials in inventory.

· Load and unload trailers.

· Verifies case/pallet counts and patterns.

· Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor.

· Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all safety methods and GMP’s

· Assists with inventory reconciliation process.

· Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using “SAP system” and/or Excel spreadsheet.

· Performs duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to managers. · Flexibility to work outside of core hours to support business operations

· Performs all other related duties assigned by management.

Skills that will make you successful

· Ability to read, write and speak English.

· Ability to work with minimum supervision.

· Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

· Promote teamwork, possess a good attitude, and exhibit flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed

Experiences that will support your success

· Minimum of 1 year experience driving a stand-up forklift

· Minimum of 1 year experience with a stretch wrapper and hand jack.

· Minimum of 1 year experience with SAP or similar preferred

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Compensation

The salary rate for this role is $25.00 hourly plus .75 shift differential.
