As Cook, you are responsible for the preparation and service of daily meals for DeKalb Pack Center Employees. You will ensure proper sanitation, safety, and quality for food preparation and service. You will monitor kitchen supplies and equipment are used appropriately to minimize loss and waste.
Ways you will make a difference
Prepares, cooks and serves food in accordance with standards of quality, quantity and food safety guidelines.
Operates work fryer, oven, slicer, can opener, and other food processing equipment as needed.
Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
Ensures food is stored properly and safely.
Maintains storage areas in a neat and organized manner.
Reports and coordinates necessary equipment repair and maintenance
Skills that will make you successful
Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, stir, chop, slice, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity.
Experiences that will support your success
2 or more years of experience as a Cook or similar role in a kitchen environment
Experience in commercial cooking or high-volume cooking preferred
Safe Food Handling Certificate preferred
ServSafe Manager Certificate required
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
