Stationary Engineer-3rd Shift

Work Location: ​Chicago​

Position requires the ability to work overtime.  As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

***THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT POSITION, CORE HOURS ARE 10PM-6:15AM.***

The Stationary Engineer is responsible for operation of plant equipment including: boilers, compressors, chillers, and more. The Stationary Engineer manages the plant equipment, conducting preventative maintenance and project work as needed to ensure the operation of the plant and safety of employees. 

Ways you will make a difference

  • ​​Assure implementation of an equipment management plan for boilers, compressors, chillers, and other assigned equipment 
  • ​Maintain boilers and related equipment to assure operation according to manufacturer specification 
  • ​Observe pressure/temperature gauges and panel view screens to verify specified operation automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, and burners 
  • ​Make minor repairs as needed, reporting any major problems to supervisor 
  • ​Test and treat water boiler feed water using specified chemicals; maintain a log of water test results 
  • ​Enter work order information into MMS system (SAP) 
  • ​Follow safety regulations and maintain compliances of GMPs and safety standards; ensure adherence with applicable regulations and food safety requirements 
  • ​Understand and demonstrate the Company’s core values and operation principles​ 

Skills that will make you successful

  • ​​Knowledge of applicable safety requirements 
  • ​Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write in English 
  • ​Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force on occasion 
  • ​Ability to work in standard manufacturing environment 

Experiences that will support your success

  • ​​At least 1 year of technical education  
  • ​Valid State First Grade Stationary Engineer license required 
  • ​City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License required 
  • ​Minimum 3 years of experience operating large steam, chiller, refrigeration plant or similar setting

Compensation

$45.50 per hour plus a .25 cent per hour shift differential
