Sr. Account Executive, Club

Work Location: ​Chicago​

Due to the highly interactive and team-based nature of this role, in-person attendance for most of the workweek (i.e., 3 days or more) is essential for: effective communication including during in-person meetings, strong supervision, real-time problem-solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Sales for Club & Discount, the Sr. Account Executive, Club will develop, plan, and implement business initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional areas of the company and the customers to achieve company financial objectives and priorities that align with customer objectives. The Sr. Account Executive will establish mutually agreed upon financial growth goals and objectives that will deliver profitable and sustainable growth for the company.

 

NOTE: This role is remote, and the successful candidate will be based in the eastern half of United States near a major airport and comfortable with regular (approximately 20%) business travel .

 

Ways you will make a difference

  • Serve as the primary business manager of the BJ’s Wholesale and assigned Costco regions’ confections businesses, accountable for delivering annual sales, profitability, and strategic growth objectives.
  • Lead annual business planning, forecasting, promotional strategy, and innovation commercialization for BJ’s Wholesale and assigned Costco regions with support of the Sales Strategy & Customer Marketing teams. Partner with Costco counterpart and Sam’s Club peer on Club specific initiatives.
  • Develops, maintains, and adheres to operating budgets and trade spending plans.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships, both internally and externally, to deliver results against objectives.
  • Responsible for monthly sales forecasting in conjunction with Sales Planning, Demand Planning and Supply Planning Teams.
  • Leverage customer, category, consumption, and syndicated data to identify opportunities & risks, shape strategies, and develop fact-based recommendations.
  • Lead preparation and execution of customer-facing presentations, including Joint Business Planning (JBP), Monthly Business Reviews, and program sell-in.
  • Maintain oversight with the customer supply chain to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Participates in cross functional department and interdepartmental planning and management teams to improve processes within the organization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to create, define and present contingency plans to maximize growth in both revenue and margin.
  • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Understands and demonstrates the Company’s core values and operating principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Masters or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of account responsibility.
  • Minimum of 2 years supporting Costco and/or BJ’s.
  • Strong understanding of Costco and/or BJ’s merchandising strategies, promotional planning, supply chain, and ecommerce processes.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working in Confections is a plus.
  • Experience in Customer/Channel Marketing, Category Management, or Sales Strategy is a plus.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $109,560 to $153,384 annually.
