Sanitation Technician (2nd Shift)
Work Location: Chicago
Due to the highly interactive nature of this manufacturing position, in-person attendance and flexibility are essential for supporting production schedules, effective communication and collaboration, real-time problem solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives. - Ensure plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production
- Strictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standards
- Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation
- Schedules for the facility interior and exterior and ensure superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areas
- Mentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growth
- Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements
- Facilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues
- Follow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested work
- Monitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activities
- Receive and track sanitary and chemical inventory
- Monitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessary
Ways you will make a difference
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- Basic knowledge of HACCP, BRC food safety and GMP principles
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)
- Basic computer skills and proficiency preferred
Experiences that will support your success
Minimum of 1 year of proven sanitation experience in the food industry preferred
